Denise Renee (Bailey) Cannon, 51, of DeMotte, passed away at home on February 23, 2023, after battling a recent cancer diagnosis. She was born in Rensselaer on December 12, 1971, to Brenda (Wilkerson) Smart and Estill Bailey. Denise loved gardening, taking family vacations, watching SpongeBob, The Golden Girls, and sharing music videos with loved ones. She began working at the Rensselaer Care Center in 2006 and thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the residents and conversating with her co-workers. She was always there to lend an ear and was a counselor to many.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Cannon of DeMotte; daughter Aliza Daniels of Rensselaer; son David Watts Jr. of Portage; siblings Carl Wilkerson of DeMotte; Ramona Bailey of North Judson; Katherine (Bailey) Hovis of Rensselaer; aunt Sherri Wilkerson of DeMotte; uncle David Wilkerson of Rensselaer; plus many nephews and cousins.

Denise was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Smart, father Estill Bailey; son Zeb Daniels; grandparents Helen Starr and William (Bill) Wilkerson; and uncle William (Randy) Wilkerson.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 12-6 pm at Frazier funeral Home located at 621 S. Halleck Street DeMotte, IN. There will be no funeral services due to Denise's cremation wishes.
