Obituary for Earl H Rayfield

Earl Hunter Rayfield of DeMotte, IN was born on July 21,1955 in Elizabethtown, NC and passed away at the age of 68 on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Franciscan Health Crown Point. From 1974-1980, he proudly served in the United States Army, where he received the Good Conduct Medal, Expert Rifleman and Overseas Ribbon. He enjoyed playing the Saxophone and played in the East Bladen Highschool Band, which performed in the 1973 Presidential Inauguration Parade. During his military service, he played in the 76th Army Band, where he performed all across Europe. Earl continued to perform locally as well as in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia and was an exceptional musician and performer. He was an inventor, enjoyed electronics, and watching Morgan Freeman movies.

He is survived by his wife, Christine: children: Julie(David), Jeanette(Larry), Rebecca(Joe), Melissa, Andrea(Jessie), and Dustin: grandchildren: Katie, Sophie, Leah, Luke, Jackson, Felicity, Elijah, Aryal, Samuel, and Angela: sister Carolyn Freeman: and former wife Dolores Rayfield. Earl is preceded in death by his parents Earl Rayfield and Esther Hall

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 10am until the time of the funeral at 12pm at Frazier Funeral Home located at 621 S. Halleck Street, DeMotte, IN. Internment will follow at DeMotte Cemetery.
