Obituary for Everett Merle Gasper

Everett Merle Gasper 101, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2021 at Regency Hospital in Portage, IN. Everett was born July 4th 1919 in Surry, Indiana to the late Walter Gasper and Hulda Rhinehart. Everette graduated from Rensselaer Public School and then went on to proudly serve in the U.S Army from 1941 to 1945, where he fought in WWII, he received two Bronze stars, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Ribbon and was Honorable Discharged. He went on to work as a Press Operator and Metal Finisher for BUDD Plant in Gary, IN for 31 years. Everett enjoyed carpentry where he make walking canes, which he sold to friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed working on cars in his spare time. Everette was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He was truly a friend to all.
Everette was proceeded in death by his father Walter, mother Hulda, sons Richard and Walter, his first wife Anita and second wife Barbara, two sisters, and three brothers. Left to cherish his memory are his children Samuel (Roz) Stout, Edwin (Sharon) Gasper, Ronald Gasper and stepson Scott (Dawn) Platt. 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services for Everett will be held on Saturday February 20, 2021 at Redeemer Church 5417 East State Road 10 in Roselawn, IN at 12:00pm with visitation from 10:00am until the time of the service. With burial following at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you donate to the Redeemer Church in honor of Everett. Arrangements are entrusted to Frazier Funeral Home.
