Irene Helen Freeman (Podowski), 78, passed away September 30, 2021. She was born February 18, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Halina Podowski. She is survived by the loves of her life—her 5 children—David (Marlene) Hardin, Irene Hardin, John (Teresa) Hardin, Helen Witowski, Pamela (David) Brent, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brother George (Sue) Podowski, sister Christine Podowski, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents, brother Robert Podowski, and beloved son Timothy Michael Hardin. Irene will always be remembered for her quick wit, independence, and legendary Polish pancakes. She will be missed dearly. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Frazier Funeral Home, 621 S. Halleck St., Demotte, IN 46310 from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Demotte. Burial will take place at Cemetery of the Resurrection, Demotte, immediately to follow.
