Jennie Kordys age 95, of DeMotte passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Gary, IN on January 3, 1927 to the late Anthony and Rozalia Gawryck Sul. Jennie enjoyed baking all kinds of desserts, crocheting, cross stitching, helping a close friend with catering at various venues for the Gary Hotel, and watching soap operas. She was also a very talented bowler, she loved going on Disney cruises and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by sons: Larry (Karen) Kordys, Richard (Bonnie) Kordys, Jeffery (Gail) Kordys and Mark (Kim) Kordys, grandchildren: Matthew (Alli), Kristen (Spencer), Justin (Jen), Evan, Drew (Brooke), Brooke, Kelsey, Nolan and Ryan (Nicolette), great-grandchildren: Kellan, Lane, Quinn, Jett, and Brody. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Kordys: daughter Roberta Kordys, her parents: Anthony and Rozalia Sul, brothers: Frank, Chester, and Eddie, sisters: Annie Wozniak, Cecila Klaja, and Helen Bracich.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at St. Cecilia Church located at 334 15th Street SW, DeMotte, IN at 10 am with Deacon Andrew Morand officiating. Per Jennie's wishes cremation was chosen.
