Obituary for Larry Keck

Larry Keck age 81 of DeMotte passed away on Sunday, May 29th, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Larry was born on February 21,1941 to Merrill Keck and Mary Bennett Keck in Miller, South Dakota, grew up on a farm outside of town, he attended Keck Country school through the 8th grade, and graduated in 1959 from Miller High School. Larry continued his education in Porterville, California at the Porterville Community College for 2 years He worked in California for a while and then moved back to South Dakota.

He started his career working for the South Dakota Highway Department. While working in the construction field he went to work at Big Dam project there he met his future wife Sheila DuVall. They were married on January 29, 1964 at the St James Church in Chamberlain. They moved to Minnesota where he attended Dunwoody Institute. He eventually went to work on the Minute Man Missiles bases, in North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana. He was transferred to Gary Indiana to work for American Bridge. From there he went to Ford Motor Company and retired after 32 years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors and enjoyed Alaskan hunting trips with his stepbrother Mike Stoutd. Larry loved to cook and he had a green thumb in the garden. He was a hard-working man and always a perfectionist in everything he did.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sheila Keck, daughter Michel Keck, grandchildren Justin and Jenna Singel. He was preceded in death by his parents Merrill and Mary Keck and daughter Rebecca Keck.

There will be a Visitation held from 4 to 6 PM on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Frazier Funeral Home located at 621 S. Halleck Street DeMotte, IN. There will not be a memorial service at this time.
