Richard L. Gunter age 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Franciscan Health in Crown Point with his loving family by his side. He was born on May 17, 1939 in west Frankfort, IL to the late Leonard and Chloe Gunter. Proudly went on in 1957, and enlisted to serve his country in the Army for 3 years and was Honorable Discharged in 1960. His favorite hobbies were spending time with his grandkids and his family. He was a family man and always wanted to make sure everyone was cared for, he had a great sense of humor and loved to tell stories to all the grandkids of how he grew up. There was never a moment when someone was not laughing when he was around. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

Left behind to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 51 years, Juanita Gunter, children ,JoAnn (Andrew) Sackett, Richard (Linda) Gunter, Karen (John) Boyles, Dawight (Gail) Gunter, Dawayne Gunter, Charles Gunter, Charlene (Randall) Michallick, David (Natasha) Gunter, Matthew and Michelle, 28 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Richard will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 3-7 pm at Frazier Funeral Home located at 621 S Halleck Street DeMotte, IN with funeral services on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10am at Redeemer Church in Roselawn with Pastor Joel Gilbert Officiating.
