Ruby Laura Hughes 80, of DeMotte passed away February 18, 2021 peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side. Ruby was born in Pineview, Georgia to Mark and Mary Cook on March 4, 1940. After high school Ruby went on and got her teaching degree and taught kindergarten in Chicago, IL for 25 years. She met and married the love of her life Robert of 59 years in Daytona Beach, Florida. Together had 2 wonderful children Cynthia (David) Purvis and Robert Hughes. 3 wonderful grandchildren Rachael (Rob) Soulian, Stephen Purvis and Sarah. 1 great grandchild Alliana Soulian. Per the family's wishes services are being held private only. Ruby will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Arrangements are entrusted to Frazier Funeral Home in DeMotte.
