Simon "Butch" DeYoung age 82, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Aperion Health Care of DeMotte, with his loving family by his side. He was born to John and Susie DeYoung, on January 8, 1939 in Rensselaer, IN. In July 1958, Simon enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served in the 82nd Airborne Division, after a few years he was Honorably Discharged. He was a self employed Bricklayer until his retirement in 2009, and a member of the American Legion Post 440 in DeMotte. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memories are his two brother's, Gene, and Roger (Janet), one sister, Judy " Dee" VanderMolen, two children, Bret (Lara) DeYoung of Pray, MT, and SheraLyn (Brian) Barnes of Minneapolis, MN. one granddaughter, Lily DeYoung of MT. and his best friend of 36 years Louise Turner. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and six sister's.

The family has chosen a cremation at this time with a graveside service to be held at a later date.
Frazier Funeral Home in DeMotte have been entrusted with the arrangements.
