William Edward Prater Sr age 75 of DeMotte passed away on Wednesday April 29, 2020 Franciscan St. Anthony Hospital. Born on August 10, 1944 in Rensselaer to the late Chillie(Shirley Haunselman) Prater. William was a self employed mechanic for many years. He was a member of the Roselawn American Legion Post 238. He enjoyed playing cards, playing horseshoes, playing darts and bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Brenda Sanders. Survived by children, Christina(William) McElroy and William(Pam Cooper) Prater Jr., significant other, Libby Albright, stepchildren, Robin(Melvin) Lock, Donald Albright, Elizabeth Molden, siblings, Chillie(Donna) Prater, Ann Michal, grandchildren; Carol Ann, Mckinley"Bubba", Kristina Byram, Amanda Cooper, 14 step grandchildren, great grandchildren, Brodie, Brooklynn, Brayleigh, Bransen, Britton, Milah. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday August 1, 2020 from 1 PM at the Roselawn American Legion Post 238, 4181 IN-10, Roselawn, Indiana 46372. William will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the children.
